Scenes from a dinner party.
Taken last weekend from the monthly dinner party with the Matts, Fred and I:
Matt #1 made this divine dish with chicken and apples that was the very essence of fall. I have a larger kitchen than he and his boy, so he made it at my house. Braised apples are heavenly.
In return I made a slightly better asparagus gratin—much more palatable than the pablum cooked earlier in the week—that was devoured quickly. I mean, I suppose a higher grade of cheese and a proper bechamel was all it took. Nonetheless, there was wine and good conversation for everyone!
